  • Their aim is to create organic, fair and affordable apparel that you can feel good about.
  • Sustainability is not sustainable if it’s not accessible.
  • Organic cotton | Recycled denim | Recycled polyester | Accessible prices.

Founded by twins Abigail and Lavinia Bakker, the idea of Goat initially appeared from their need for a basic white T-shirt. Although easy enough to find, they discovered it was a different story once they filtered it down to a white T-shirt that’s sustainable, organic and affordable. Over the years, the collections expanded beyond T-shirts. Sweaters, long-sleeve tees, joggers and, more recently, their REmix and REcycle collection, always keeping their ethical, sustainable and affordable DNA as strong backbones.

Their fabrics are environment-oriented and they use organic cotton in the majority of their clothes. Why they use organic cotton is very simple: It is grown without harming chemicals or pesticides. Organic cotton uses 91% less water and is also mostly rain-fed, which means the use of irrigation is next to nun.

After coming up with the idea of an organic and fair-trade apparel brand, they soon realized that one of their main goals was to keep the prices as low as possible. Usually, a brand uses a retail store as a ‘middle man’, which makes the price to shoot up. With their “Sustainability is not sustainable if it’s not accessible” motto in mind, they simply chose to cut out the middle man and sell directly to you.

Let’s hit you with a hard truth: Over 100.000.000 animals are used for fashion items each year. That’s a hard number to digest, and they want nothing to do with it. As self-declared vegans, Abigail and Lavinia incorporate their love of animals in everything they do. The result is simple: As well as an ethical and sustainable brand, Goat is also 100% vegan.
