  • As the world’s leading manufacturer of container farming technology, they’re working to empower anyone to grow food for their community.
  • Their technology makes it easy to bring people closer to their food source.
  • Sustainably-grown food | Local food production | Food production in all climates | Reduce harmful emissions.

Freight Farms started in 2010 by Brad McNamara and Jon Friedman, who saw a necessity for urban agriculture to emerge as a competitive industry within the food landscape. Not only were containers widely available, but they would allow farms to exist in areas that couldn’t support traditional methods. As a result, Freight Farms was born with the mission of building the infrastructure and technology that can allow local food to thrive.

At Freight Farms, they have a passionate customer base of small businesses, entrepreneurs, traditional farmers, hotels and restaurants, corporate campuses, universities, and non-profits.

Every day, they are working on new technology to modernize farming and bring transparency to the food production business. In an increasingly complex and obscure food system, Freight Farms is empowering people and organizations with the physical and digital solutions required to supply their communities with fresh produce year-round, in all climate conditions.

Today, they have Freight Farmers around the world: snowy Canadian wildernesses, Middle Eastern deserts, concrete urban jungles, and everything in between. While their Freight Farmers have totally different backgrounds, they all want to shorten the distance that food travels from farm to table. Their farmers rely on container farms as a source of high-quality and sustainable produce, 365 days a year. Learn more about their products here.
